Mr Hero C FCBL, MCIL, M.A.

Principal

Mr Hero C works extensively in both UK and China as a lecturer, conference interpreter and project partner.

With widely recognized distinction, he has worked in hundreds of high-profile international conferences and bilateral meetings up to the cabinet level as the lead interpreter. His client base has covered almost all ministries and departments in the two countries. He also has an enormous range of experience in working with prominent academic institutions, major corporations and charities.

He has lectured widely as invited speaker in a number of higher education institutions in China, including Tsinghua University, University of International Business and Economics, China Foreign Affairs University, Shanghai International Studies University, Xi'an International Studies University, etc. He has been invited by London-based universities to participate in the course design of their master-degree interpreting programmes.

He was appointed Academic Director of Lingo-Bridge International, leading a London-based team of conference interpreters in UK's largest provider of Chinese/English interpreting services in the private sector since 2009. Before that, he was educated in Middlesex University and graduated with the degree of MA Interpreting with a merit.

He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and fellow of China-Britain Linguists. 


 

Mr Tony Corballis  FCBL, B.Com, M.A., Dip.Tesol

Language Tutor

 

Mr Tony Corballis  is a consultant in communication skills training (speech & presentations, professional interviewing, cross-culture, interpreter professionalism, business communication), executive leadership transition, and academic English.

He has lectured on postgraduate degree courses, university entrance and foundation programmes across seven universities, and works as an IELTS examiner. His main association is with the world’s oldest EAP provider, University of London SOAS. His client track-record includes blue-chip corporations, royal and presidential families, and a great range of smaller businesses, and published academics across business and linguistics. His second published book, English for Management Studies (Garnet Education) won the English-Speaking Union Duke of Edinburgh Book Award for 2009. His earlier materials have been brought to market in Australia, China, Vietnam, Thailand and the UK.

He is a fellow of China-Britain Linguists.


 Ms Valeria Ji MCBL, M.A.

Interpreter, PA to Principal

Ms Ji is a professional interpreter with recognized excellence.

On the position of Project Manager and Premium Interpreter of Sino-Bridge International Ltd, the major employer of Chinese conference interpreters in the UK, she has an average of 100 working hours in conference interpreting each month, with 100% client satisfaction. She has covered a wide range of subjects including manufacturing, social policies, public management, mining, energy, IT, education and aerospace.

Before she joined SBI and became a full member of CBL, she graduated with an MA degree in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies in Leeds University. Prior to her post-graduate studies, she was the Outstanding Graduate of School of Foreign Studies, Nanjing University and a frequent award winner of English contests.
